Eugene parade 2017

The City of Eugene Human Rights Commission developed and presented the Marginalized Voices Report, which offered the city recommendations on opportunities to better serve its marginalized communities. Establishing a Multicultural Center in Eugene was one of such recommendations. The City Manager has directed staff to convene an Advisory Committee to conduct a needs assessment with these expected outcomes:.

  • To explore the needs of marginalized communities as they relate to a Multicultural Center;
  • To research existing models for Multicultural Centers in like cities;
  • To identify shared goals, outcomes and scope for the creation of a Multicultural Center;
  • To develop a report that includes recommendations to be shared with the City Manager.

To reach such outcomes, the Multicultural Center Advisory Committee is seeking public input throughout the needs assessment process.
