Campbell Community Center is the second oldest senior center on the west coast and has been serving Eugeneans since 1968 with the last major expansion completed in 1990.
The 2018 bond included $5 million to renovate and expand Campbell and add a health and wellness component to the building.
Here are some facts about the upcoming renovation and expansion of Campbell:
Today, the building is 10,551 square feet, including the woodshop. The addition will add spaces for a variety of fitness activities, more socializing and improved circulation and connectivity.
The project team and center staff hope to keep the building open as much as possible during construction. If parts of the building can’t be used, our goal is to continue providing programs, classes and services in an alternate location.
Improvements include: fitness room, great hall, large classroom, social spaces, restrooms, new reception area, heating and cooling improvements, enclosed courtyard, improved landscaping.
