Construction Update June 2026

Exciting news! University Park’s renovation is coming to a close, and fences will be coming down ahead of schedule. When the fences are removed, the park will be open to the public. The renovation is funded with 2018 Park and Recreation Bond Dollars.

A Grand Re-Opening celebration has been scheduled for August 29th in partnership with SUNA and will include food trucks, music, games, and booths from local agencies.

Renovated amenities include:

• New basketball court foundation, surfacing and hoop nets
• Updated lighting
• New and bigger playground
• ADA access and sidewalk improvements
• Restroom stall doors and year-round plumbing additions
• More seating and picnic tables
