    Let's Shift your observations.

    Let's Shift your observations.

Join iNaturalist’s City Nature Challenge Eugene-Springfield to explore, observe and identify local flora and fauna! Started in 2016 as a competition between San Francisco and Los Angeles, the City Nature Challenge (CNC) has grown into an international event, motivating people around the world to find and document wildlife in their cities. Run by the Community Science teams at the California Academy of Sciences and the Natural History Museum of Los Angeles County, the CNC is an annual four-day global bioblitz at the end of April, where cities are in a collaboration-meets-friendly-competition to see not only what can be accomplished when we all work toward a common goal, but also which city can gather the most observations of nature, find the most species, and engage the most people in the event. For more on the global event, go to https://citynaturechallenge.org/. For local participation, go to www.facebook.com/cnceugene.

    Let's Shift your water quality.

    Let's Shift your water quality.

Volunteer for river clean up April 22-June 6. Your river needs you more than ever! Volunteers are needed throughout the Willamette watershed for our Spring for Your River Clean Up series. We believe a river with excellent water quality, abundant natural habitat, safe for fishing and recreation is a basic public right. This is YOUR river! Keeping volunteers and the community safe from the spread of COVID-19 is our number one concern. Therefore, our Spring cleanup will take place over the course of 6 weeks. We will highlight winners for the Best of Trash or Treasure Contest. During the Cleanup, keep on the lookout for unique trash that might give you a win! Trash or treasure categories will be inspired by the images we receive. Visit http://willamette-riverkeeper.org/event-list to learn about an event near you.
